Who This Program Serves

Five Pathways. One Approved Curriculum.

The Florida Board of Nursing recognizes specific situations that require completion of an approved remedial course. We serve every one of them — using the same evidence-based curriculum, with timing adjusted to your specific pathway.

3-Month Track

Repeat NCLEX Test-Takers

You've taken the NCLEX three or more times without passing. The Board requires an authorization letter and completion of an approved remedial course before you can test again. We've walked over a thousand nurses through this exact pathway.

FL BON Scenario 1

3-Month Track

Internationally Educated Nurses (IEN)

You earned your nursing credential outside the U.S. and need a structured remediation pathway aligned to U.S. nursing standards and the NCLEX-RN. Our IEN track includes credential alignment, NCLEX preparation, and the documentation Florida requires.

IEN Pathway

2-Month Track

Compact License Transfer

You hold an RN license in another Compact state and you're moving your primary residence to Florida. The transfer process can require a remedial course depending on your situation. We'll help you navigate the requirements and complete the coursework efficiently.

Compact Transfer

2-Month Track

Lapsed Licensure (5+ Years)

You passed the NCLEX more than five years ago but never received your Florida license. Florida Administrative Code Rule 64B9-3.014 requires completion of an approved remedial course before licensure can be issued. This track gets you compliant and licensed.

FL BON Scenario 3

2-Month Track

License Transfer / Endorsement

You hold an active RN license in another state and need to transfer or endorse it into Florida. Your situation may require a remedial course as part of the endorsement process. We'll work with you to meet the specific requirements your case requires.

The Regulatory Framework

Florida's Three Triggering Scenarios.

If you're here, you've probably already been told you need a remedial course. Here's what the Board says, in plain English.

The Florida Board of Nursing recognizes three official scenarios that require completion of an approved remedial course. We meet the standards for all three and serve two additional pathways (Compact transfer and license endorsement) where remediation is part of the licensure process.

If you've received any communication from the Florida Department of Health Licensure Unit, the Board, or your testing center indicating remediation is required, we're happy to review the documentation with you on a free confidential call.

1
Three Failed NCLEX Attempts Applicants who have failed the NCLEX three consecutive times require an authorization letter from the Licensure Unit before beginning an approved remedial course.
2
Clinical Component Authorization A separate letter is required when progressing to the clinical portion of the remedial course. Theory begins without authorization; clinical requires Board approval.
3
Lapsed Licensure (5+ Years) Applicants who passed the NCLEX more than five years ago and were never issued a license must complete an approved remedial course before licensure under Rule 64B9-3.014, FAC.

Our Methodology

The NCLEX PASS Methodâ„¢

Content + Process + Confidence

Most prep programs sell you content and call it done. The NCLEX PASS Method™ is built on three layers because passing the NCLEX requires all three. Every Merkaii program — including the BON-approved Remediation track — is engineered around this framework.

Licensed Nurse · Health Educator · Administrator, Merakii College of Health

The administrator listed on the Florida Board of Nursing's official approved providers page is a real, named person — accountable to the Board. That accountability matters in regulated remediation, and it's why the program meets BON requirements without compromise.

Since 2019, our administrator has worked with over 1,500 nursing students. The repeat test-takers, the IENs, the nurses navigating Compact transfers and lapsed licensure — these aren't edge cases. They're who this program was built for.

FL BON-Specific Questions

Answers Before You Ask.

The real questions Florida nurses ask when they're navigating the remediation requirement.

Is your program officially approved by the Florida Board of Nursing?+

Yes. Our program is administered as Merakii College of Health and is listed on the Florida Board of Nursing's official approved providers page under Registered Nurse Courses. You can verify our listing directly on the FL BON website at floridasnursing.gov. The Board accepts our letters of verification on official letterhead with the remedial course director's signature.

How do I know if I need an authorization letter from the Board?+

If you've failed the NCLEX three or more times, you'll need an authorization letter before beginning the remedial course. The letter is requested by emailing the Licensure Unit at MQA.NursingAppStatus@flhealth.gov. Note: an authorization letter is not required to begin the theory component, but is required for the clinical portion. We'll walk you through the entire process on your free advisor call — including how to request the letter and what to send.

How long does the program take?+

Three months for repeat NCLEX test-takers and Internationally Educated Nurses. Two months for Compact license transfers, lapsed licensure (5+ years), and standard endorsement cases. Your specific pathway determines the timeline. The longer track allows additional clinical preparation that the Board expects for those two pathways.

What does the program cost? Are payment plans available?+

The full program tuition is $2,450. We offer 2-month and 3-month installment plans, scholarships for students with documented financial need, and discounted rates for active nursing students. We also work with case-specific situations — schedule a confidential call and we'll find a path that works for you.

I'm an Internationally Educated Nurse. Will this program work for me?+

Yes. Our IEN track is designed specifically for nurses who earned credentials outside the U.S. and need to align their education with U.S. nursing standards and pass the NCLEX-RN. We'll review your prior credentials, identify gaps, and structure the three-month program around your specific situation.

What documentation do I receive when I complete the program?+

Upon completion, the Board office accepts an electronically submitted letter of verification on our official letterhead. The letter bears the remedial course director's original signature as proof of authenticity — exactly what the Florida BON requires. We submit this directly on your behalf as part of program completion.

Can I work while completing the program?+

Most of our students do. The program combines live instructor lectures with on-demand content and 1-on-1 coaching, allowing you to balance study with work and family. We design your weekly schedule around your real life.

What if I'm not sure which scenario applies to my situation?+

That's exactly what the free advisor call is for. Florida BON requirements are situation-specific, and getting the right pathway from the start saves time and money. We'll review your case, look at any documentation you have from the Board or Licensure Unit, and tell you honestly which pathway applies — even if the answer is that you don't need a remedial course.

Your Comeback Starts with a Conversation.

Confidential. Free. No pressure.

Schedule a free 20-minute call to review your case, identify your pathway, and learn whether MXP is the right fit. We'll be honest with you — even if the honest answer is that you need something different than what we offer.
